How does the Let's Go Trivia work?
Players/teams use their phones to answer timed questions. There are 50 general knowledge questions and the points value for each question may vary. The host will announce the points value for questions before the game starts.
What are the rules?
The host gives a brief rundown of the rules before each game starts. You can click here for a full list of the Let’s Go Trivia rules.
How much is it to play?
It’s free to play weekly at your chosen restaurant. If your team makes the Grand Final, there may be an entrance fee.
How do I play in the league?
Simply start a team and join in! There are 3 “prelim” weeks leading up to a league play season. Then, each season runs for 10 consecutive weeks, where your teams points are accumulated weekly. After those 10 weeks, the top two teams at each venue with the most points will qualify for the Grand Final, which is held at a neutral location.
Can I play on a team? How many players maximum per team?
We encourage team play, but you can play solo if you want. You can have as many players as you want. Players points on each team are averaged, they are not accumulated, so having lots of players answering does not benefit you. Nor does just having one player answer for the team!
Can my team play at a different location every week?
Yes, definitely. However, we do not transfer points from venue to venue. The points earned at any venue, stay at that venue. Please see our rules page for more information.
Can I play more than once per week?
Of course. But as stated above, we do not transfer points from venue to venue. The points earned at one venue, stays at that venue. Please see our rules page for more information.
What are the prizes for winning?
Prizes will vary from venue to venue. Let’s Go Trivia has no say in what the prizes are.
How do I check my team's weekly scores?
To see the scoreboards for your team, visit our Scores page and select the venue that your team plays at.
What if I just look up and answer on my phone?
Each question has a 30 second timer, and as that time ticks down, so does the points value! So the quicker you answer correctly, the more points you earn. We like to think “cheaters never win“. Because they don’t!
What happens if there is an issue with my phone such as the question won't load?
A simple “refresh” of your page usually solves 90% of loading issues. But! We will do our best to get your issue fixed.
If everyone is having a technical issue, then it is most likely an issue on our end. If it is only you experiencing an issue, then it’s most likely your phone.
Note: Our hosts will not retroactively award your team points because there is something wrong with your phone and you missed a question or two.
Technical issues are the risk you take if you choose to play our game through your phone.
Here Are a Few Tips:
- Use WiFi when possible if your carrier signal is not strong enough.
- Kill any unnecessary apps running in the background before starting.
- Refresh your screen between rounds.
- Upgrade your smartphone! Older smartphones (eg: iPhone 3) have compatibility issues when running the game.
